The new 2016 Honda Civic hatchback prototype had its official world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, but of coursework not everyone was on-hand for the massive reveal, because not all of us booked our plane tickets to Switzerland in time. Fortunately, ugly Americans such as myself will have the chance to see the new hatch in person when it makes its North American debut on March 22 at the 2016 New York International Auto Show.

The four-door hatchback is expected to be loaded with attitude, with a chiseled profile and bold character lines. Large fan-blade wheels, expansive LED taillights and dual exhaust outlets flanked by massive mesh openings give the hatch an attitude unlike anything you've likely associated with the Civic
While the look is similar to the Civic four-door saloon and two-door coupe recently launched in America, the Civic’s designer - Daisuke Tsutamori – told evo that the car’s form and details had actually been inspired by the European market.
