2017 Nissan GT-R to debut at New York Auto Show 2016

Nissan on Wednesday released a teaser image of the 2017 Nissan GT-R coupe ahead of a world debut at the 2016 New York Auto Show.

No details were released apart from this single photo, which clearly depicts the rear of a GT-R.

The 2017 Nissan GT-R is expected to be powered by a refined version of the same 3.8-litre engine that performs duties on the current model. The pot is good for 550PS of peak power and 612Nm of peak torque, and is mated to a 6-speed dual clutch gearbox, which in turn is mated to an all-wheel-drive layou

Reportedly drawing upon the boundary-pushing Nismo GT-R, engine power is likely to be boosted from today’s 550hp, potentially up to the same 600hp as the Nismo itself

The R35-generation GT-R has been around for a while now, having made its U.S. debut way back in 2008. Don’t get too excited about the R36 quite yet, because current rumors say that it won’t arrive until 2018. When it does, expect it to use an advanced hybrid powertrain and look something like Nissan’s 2020 Vision Gran Turismo concept. Until then, stay tuned to see what Nissan has in store for the current-generation GT-R when it shares full details on March 23rd.
